The client wanted as to build as much storage as possible on a bare wall, but with an interesting rhythm, not simple 10' of cupboard floor to ceiling. We both love how Ray and Charles Eames used commonly available materials to make great furniture, and that they were local to where we lived helped too. I have a soft spot for Douglas Fir and I found a company that produces Doug Fir plywood with a completely clear face, so I jumped at the chance to make this storage unit.
Apparently the most used part is a very shallow drawer that holds a laptop, cell phone, wallet and keys without burying them. I'd love to have one of those for myself.
